Sharlae Jenkins Music Studio

"Music expresses the joy of the soul" -unknown

Sharlae Jenkins, a Santa Barbara native, has been involved in the Santa Barbara/Goleta community for many years as a performer, educator, accompanist, studio vocalist, songwriter, and worship leader.   For more than 30 years, she has taught piano and voice to children, teens and adults and holds memberships in the Music Teachers’ Association of California (MTAC), National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), California Association of Professional Music Teachers (CAPMT) and Central Coast Music Teachers Association (CCMTA).

Sharlae is also a part of the “Journey through Jazz” education team with the Santa Barbara Vocal Jazz Foundation and the Lobero Theatre Foundation, bringing music education to local elementary students.  For five years, she served on the MTAC State Council as the Certificate of Merit® Voice Coordinator, and is a certified adjudicator in voice and piano. For more than 15 years, Sharlae sang soprano and was a co-director of the popular Santa Barbara vocal jazz group, VocalPoint. She enjoys playing the piano and singing on the SOUTHCOAST Church worship team, and can be heard throughout the holiday season singing with The Santa Barbara Noël Carolers

Sharlae is so pleased that many of her former students have gone on to establish their own careers in music and have performed on stages all over the world, including Broadway, cruise lines, operas, and YouTube channels. But, she is equally thrilled when students simply discover the joy of music! ♬
